Here is a new tutorial I wrote this week that walks you through the entire Fill options you have when using the various shape and fill tools. This tutorial covers all 4 fill types:

Uniform Fill (Solid color)
Fountain Fill (Gradients)
Bitmap Fill (Using other images)
Texture Fill (Pre-Formatted Textures and Styles)
